Come on out to a night of silliness and comradeship. While we spend lots of time promoting traditions and heritage,
If you don’t want to “perform” you can also just sit back and act like ya don’t know us, and smile in amusement.

Williamsburg Festival Highlights
3. October 2010 by admin.
Since we did not venture out of our area, we cannot report on the rest of the festival, but as for the Celtic Heritage Stage, WOW!!! Every one of the acts on the stage were first rate. Some highlights include a young woman who heard Patrick Lewis’ talk on mandolin’s deciding she could do it too!
A not so young man was equally enthralled by Phil Duffy’s traditional tin whistle and was going out to find one to buy.
Beverly English was inundated with questions about the hammer dulcimer after her demonstration.
Stuart Jackson brought the beauty of the Uilleann pipes to our stage and to the Williamsburg Scottish Festival. We hope Stuart becomes a regular in the circle of traditional musicians on the south side of the bridge too!.
Rhythm of Ireland were grand as expected. Great dancing and as a special treat, singing too!!! Good luck in the Feis!
The Scottish tradition was proudly represented by Carl Peterson, Hugh Allison and the great harp groups from Dunham Harps and Brandywine Harp Orchestra.
Our own Gan Ainm played the music of Scotland, Ireland, and more. Thanks for all the help throughout the day at the tables and breaking down the tent.
When Cindy Kays started her children’s show there were a smattering of folks, but outside the tent on the grass, all the kids were dancing around and singing with her!! When she did her sea shanties, the Vikings, Romans, and Emeralds joined in!!!!
After his rousing performance of rebel songs, we almost lost James West completely to the main stage, so thanks for coming back to liven up the evening!!!
Dermot represented all of Ireland in the singing of the Irish National Anthem in Irish and English at the Opening Ceremony.
A special shout out to one of our young members, AJ, who delighted the crowd with his dancing. AJ and a wee girl from the Emeralds, were joyously dancing to the sounds of James West late in the evening.
Special thanks to the McCook and Ramos family for stepping in and helping us with the table!
John Aiken of the Oasis Cafe and Bar filmed and produced our new membership DVD and had it ready in time for our festival against all odds!!!!! Cheers!!
Finally, Una Toibin, our own resident graphic artist from CCE graphics has our heartfelt thanks for the gorgeous display graphics, Martin Marron for literally supporting the display, and Val Little for his carpentry skills.

Shout out for the Pin Up Angels
3. October 2010 by admin.
As a group we do not usually ask for member support of causes, but we are making an exception in this case because of how well these ladies treated Irish in Virginia at the Celtic Heritage Stage.
The Angels raise money to send care packages and run a website for deployed military folks. Due to a planning glitch, the Pin-Up Angels carshow had to be canceled at the Williamsburg Festival. They had hoped to reach their goal of 100 Holiday care packages from the festival, but did not come close due to the cancellation. They have to raise the money early due to the shipping and logistics of getting packages to the troops in the field.
If you are interested in helping these fine ladies, visit them at the Richmond Scottish Festival or donate directly online at http://www.thepinupangels.com/PayPal.html.
Thanks for you consideration. And we won’t make a habit of it!! Backto the hooleys!
