S. Va. Celtic Festival AKA Murphyfest
16. September 2011 by Gadyl.
Hi all! Just a quick clarification on tomorrow’s festival. Despite the weather, the festival goes on. All music will still be played - just inside the pub itself. So, join IIV in celebrating the 1st festival of the season. midday - until, Saturday, September 17 at Murphy’s Grand Irish Pub, corner of Pacific and 30th, Va. Beach, Va. No admission fee, but plenty of food and libations available. Kid friendly until 9 pm. Great place to stay dry on a soggy September afternoon!

Happy St Patricks Day
17. March 2011 by admin.
UP the Irish!!!
Tips on where to go and what to do if you are at sixes and sevens today.
Cindy Kays will be singing the praises of the new taps and creamy pints at the Oasis Bar and Cafe on N Great Neck. Oh, and she will be singing a few Irish tunes as well!
Murphys is open all day with James West, Val Little and finishing out the night with Martin Marron (if ya miss tonight, Martin is on all weekend)
Stop in for a pint at MO and O’Malleys on your way to Dancing with Lughnasa at the Norfolk Little Theater or the Fighting Jameesons at the NORVA.
If you are thinking of fixing yourself a nice meal at home The British Store has the rashers, the curry, and more . Trader Joes has great smoked salmon and Kerry Gold. All the local markets are awash in green if you are more comfortable with Irish American foods.
If this is not enough choice, you also have Conklins open from lunch onward, the Pub in Hampton (ignore the Union Jack and enjoy the fine offerings), Sarahs in Hampton, Cozzys in Newport News, Olearys off N Great Neck, even the Scots will be green today (UP the Celtics) at the Green Oak on W Great Neck. H20 is offering Jesse O’Chong.
For more standard American fare in a trad environment any of the Keagans or Kelly’s are for you.
Thanks to all who made the party fun last night and all the great marchers and workers for the parade!!!

More March Madness at the Oasis!!!
5. March 2011 by admin.
A St Patrick’s Miracle has occurred. John and Kelly of the Oasis on N Great Neck have ordered the taps and Imperial pint glasses for Guinness and Harp. Cindy Kays and a creamy pint or frothy Harp, Irish Food and more. John and Kelly are giving IIV a portion of every Irish sale in March to help defray costs for the parade and International Children’s Festival. Thanks!!!!![]()
